QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • No. When you pay your deposit, we reserve a time and date for you. If you can't make it, we can simply reschedule. Of course, we appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible if your date or time needs to change.

  • We will first consult by email, phone, Zoom, or in person as needed to answer any questions you may have and give you advice on how to prepare. This includes hair, makeup, and clothes, as well as the mood and style that would work best for you. We also have guides that we will send you. Most importantly, we will help you become as clear as possible as to what you want the images to do for you and others!

  • "You don't get a second chance to make a first impression," says James Uleman, PhD, a psychology professor at New York University and researcher on impression management.

We concur because first impressions really do count.

Before they meet you in person, people will often first see you on your site, Linkedin, Facebook, etc. If you look energized, honest, and confident, it inspires trust in your professionalism. The same is true of images of your products or services, if not more so. Potential clients have choices as to who they engage with and which goods and services they use. Images that show you at your best attract clients or customers as well as making a good impression on potential employers and people in your network. Your costs will soon be recouped.

  • "We only had time to grab our photos before we had to flee."

When there is news of an emergency, you often hear something like this. Of course, we can back up our images easily these days, but these kinds of statements show how valued personal photos can be. As time goes by, they only become more treasured. We've never heard anyone lament the time and money spent on high-quality personal photography for themselves, family, or friends.

Years from now, we won't be able to travel back for those missed shots of the ones we love. We can only do this now. As with much in life, it comes down to what we value.

  • Every profession has a distinct quality, and individual businesses, firms, agencies, clinics, and so on also have a distinct quality. This is connected to their brand. The style of your headshots can help distinguish what makes you different, your approach, and what you will bring to your clients and customers. We can match your existing style or collaborate on creating a new one. We’ll stick with you every step of the way until you’re satisfied.

  • In professional digital photography, the final decisions on lighting, color balance, and so on are often made after the shoot from the raw digital files in postproduction. Initially, we adjust the whole image file rather than retouch it, and we usually do this before putting our client's images up in an online gallery.

After you select your images, we do retouching, including brightening the eyes and teeth a little, reducing wrinkles on clothes, especially the edges, a little control on hair, adjusting profile, and so on. Beyond retouching, if there are any obvious distracting details in the background, we often remove them. In case, by request, we can change the backgrounds, for instance, to harmonize with other headshots on a company's team page.

At a fixed hourly rate, we can do almost anything else, including moving people in or out of an image, changing the color of clothes, and doing whatever you can imagine.

Remember, you're in the driver's seat. You have the power to decide how much or how little postproduction work we do. We're here to meet your requests and ensure you're completely satisfied with the results.

  • For all Business photography, you will receive your images by digital download. We'll send you a link.

For Personal Portraits, we mail your prints as well as sending you a link for the digital versions. We also include high-resolution versions of your images so you can make your own prints.

  • Yes!  You should see the options when you get your invoice for us, and will be able to see the options before you commit. This is processed through Square, the same service we have used for invoicing for years.

  • It is always worth repeating: Be as clear as possible about what you wish your images to do. Everything else will follow.

  • Don't hesitate to contact us. There is no obligation or sales pitch. We are a good resource even if you decide to go in another direction.
